I need to get out more, sometimes the depression gets the best of me and I find it hard to communicate. I suppose many people are going through the same thing. What keeps me going is my volunteerism and my tech toys...I love my Kindle, I added a memory card and now I have close to 400 books stored on a device that that is slightly larger then a mitchum paperback! I rarely read paper books any more since electronic ink has become so much clearer these days.
What else, what other kind of mischief have I gotten into? Well I rewired my 20 GB ipod so now it accepts usb thumb drives, I originally rewired my nano to recognize mini SD cards....my problem was that I kept losing the damn cards...Curse you fat fingers!
Sorry I haven't updated in awhile I've been working way too much and getting ready for the big Cisco router test I have to take to continue with my certifications.
I've been meaning to take a trip as well right now the choices are Shanghai China (I know at least 30 people in China and a good friend, Suj, is in Hong Kong at the school in Shekou. I have a friend from the NY Times working the Beijing games She was giving me all the inside scoop on the games....I should have went, China is really trying here as for the gymnasts being 14 years old...well if they are kicking our butts at 14 imagine what they will do to us when they're 16! Also, why is beach volleyball an Olympic event? In the past 20 Olympics not one took place near a beach? And why is trampoline an Olympic event ......imagine for a minute a blind person listening to this event..... Swish.....Boing..Boing...Boing....Boing..........Boing....................Boing..boing. "She takes the Gold!"...what the hell just happened?

Doing the Saturday dance and random thoughts
Woohoo....It's Saturday (does the happy Saturday dance.....this time sans shirt) Life is good when it comes to weekends! I was suppose to work today but instead took the day off to basically lounge around a bit, eat chocolate meltaways...possibly scratch myself inappropriately and study some more Chinese, Damn you Rosetta Stone and your little shiny yellow boxes. Guys are drawn to sparkly things which is why bass boats have a pearl finish.
Actually I am going to get some work done around the house one of my favorite things to do is design hands on science projects for middle schools, presently I'm working on Aqueducts which just in case you were wondering were found in India hundreds of years before those in Rome.
What else, Hmmmmm...... Well I did catch some of the Olympics I heard that one of the Chinese gymnasts lost a tooth , baby teeth will come out you know. Actually in all fairness because I know a few women gymnasts . They are some tough highly trained athletes ...and I suspect their boneless as well because some of those moves a cat would be saying Damnnnnnnn!
My goals for the upcoming year: Meet a nice Chinese teacher and learn about education across the pond and find a place to eat soup dumplings (I hear they are really good) Of course I have other goals but as I think of them I write them down...... well it's time to go do the happy dance and get scratching......ewwww..... more later!

Somebody's got a case of the Mondays....
It's Monday....Ahhhhhhhh (runs around bedroom in PJ's) I don't wanna go to work! But I have to Gotta pay them thar bills (shoots imaginary gun at the stack of bills sitting next to the keyboard) Besides I hate being a serf.....A serf you say? Yes this is when you are beholden to a higher power that you owe money to for me I'm 'serfin' my student loans and some back taxes...who knew the federal government had no sense of humor?

Fizz-a-what?

Good day folks, I'm Morty and I'll be your tour guide
This blog is bascially all about the obscure foils of an adventurous curiosity seeking volunteer junkie....I know huh?
Besides it allows me to leave comments on Suj's blog :-)
So what is a fizzlewinkie? Well according to a 16 year old Aids Marathon volunteer it's when you take a perfectly good twinkie and dip it in Coke a cola....talk about a sugar rush, doesn't really taste great to a 40 something year old guy but to 16 year olds everywhere...thems good eats!
